Getting Started with Pixo: Your First AI Video in 10 Minutes
A step-by-step tutorial for creating your first AI-generated video using Pixo's end-to-end workflow.
Ready to create your first AI-powered video? This guide will walk you through Pixo's complete workflow—from a simple text idea to a finished video—in about 10 minutes.
Prerequisites
Before we start, make sure you have:
- A Pixo account (free tier works fine)
- An idea for a short video (we'll provide examples)
- About 10-15 minutes of time
New users get 400 free credits—enough to create several short videos while learning the platform.
Step 1: Start with Your Idea
Every great video starts with an idea. For this tutorial, let's create a short promotional video for a coffee shop. Here's our starting concept:
"A cozy morning at an artisan coffee shop. Steam rises from a freshly poured latte, sunlight streams through the window, and a barista smiles warmly."
Navigate to your dashboard and click New Project. Choose "Video" as your project type.
Step 2: Generate Your Script
Pixo's AI can expand your simple idea into a full video script. In the script editor, enter your concept and click Generate Script.
The AI will create something like:
**Scene 1**: Wide shot - Morning light filters through large windows
into a warm, wooden-interior coffee shop.
**Scene 2**: Close-up - Steam curls upward from a ceramic cup as
espresso is poured into steamed milk, creating latte art.
**Scene 3**: Medium shot - A barista in an apron looks up and
smiles genuinely at an off-screen customer.
**Scene 4**: Detail shot - Hands wrap around a warm cup,
the shop's logo visible on the sleeve.You can edit the generated script freely. Add, remove, or modify scenes until it matches your vision.
Step 3: Generate Images
Once your script is ready, it's time to create visuals. Click Generate Images to convert each scene into a storyboard frame.
For each scene, Pixo will:
- Analyze the scene description
- Generate an image matching the description
- Allow you to regenerate or edit if needed
| Scene | Generation Options | |-------|-------------------| | Wide shots | Use landscape aspect ratio | | Close-ups | Consider square or portrait | | Details | Square often works best |
Don't worry about perfection—you can always regenerate specific images later.
Step 4: Create Video Segments
Now for the magic. Select the images you want to animate and click Generate Video.
For our coffee shop video, consider these settings:
// Recommended settings per scene type
const sceneSettings = {
wideShot: {
motion: "slow pan",
duration: 4,
model: "runway", // Good for environments
},
closeUp: {
motion: "subtle zoom",
duration: 3,
model: "pika", // Good for details
},
characterShot: {
motion: "minimal",
duration: 3,
model: "pika", // Good for people
},
};Step 5: Add Audio
A video without sound feels incomplete. Pixo offers several audio options:
- AI Voice: Generate narration from text
- Background Music: Choose from our library or generate custom tracks
- Sound Effects: Add ambient sounds that match your scenes
For our coffee shop, we might add:
- Soft jazz background music
- Coffee machine sounds
- Gentle ambient chatter
Step 6: Edit and Refine
Use the timeline editor to:
- Adjust timing - Extend or shorten clips
- Add transitions - Smooth cuts between scenes
- Sync audio - Align music and effects with visuals
- Fine-tune - Make any final adjustments
Save your project frequently! While Pixo auto-saves, it's good practice to manually save before major changes.
Step 7: Export
When you're happy with your video, click Export. Choose your settings:
| Setting | Recommended | |---------|-------------| | Resolution | 1080p (Pro: 4K) | | Format | MP4 | | Quality | High |
Your video will render in the cloud—no strain on your computer.
